March 2025: The Fight Goes On!

Thank you again to everyone that has contributed to the campaign to block the unwanted and unnecessary application by Bloor Homes to build over 325 homes on Sandbach Heath. The response has been phenomenal and has hopefully sent a strong message to Cheshire East on the reaction from local people.

The official consultation period may now be over, but the fight continues!

This week saw the SvO Team get together to plan next steps, including:

• continuing pressure on PDSA

• ensuring the group is represented at all key Cheshire East Boards & meetings and all local council meetings (e.g. Sandbach Town Council) to ensure our case is heard

• contributing to the update of the Neighbourhood Plan for Sandbach

• understanding the Cheshire East 5-Year Housing Supply and how this applies to Sandbach

• continuing to keep the pressure on Bloor Homes to withdraw the application for the many reasons stated

• ensuring the message of the group is covered in local and national press and TV

• working with Leonard Cheshire Home to highlight the devastating impact these plans will have on the tranquillity of the home and conditions for the residents

As always, it is the support and contribution of the many 000's of local residents that will be our main weapon. Please do continue to support the group wherever possible, especially in the run up to the Strategic Planning Board meetings where the ultimate decision will be made!
